Packaging Coordinator Position

Osmia is a growing natural products company in Carbondale, CO. We currently manufacture all of our offerings (soap, skin care, and natural perfumes) at our local facilities. We are passionate healthy-lifestyle advocates and educators, and we are proud to create luxurious, beautiful products with extraordinary, consciously sourced ingredients.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, technology-savvy team member with strong organizational skills to support our product packaging work stream. The right person will coordinate inputs from sales forecasts, our production team, and our inventory system to determine current and future packaging needs and opportunities for packaging updates. With direction from our brand team, this person will coordinate new packaging orders and reorders, and will communicate with all external production sources including graphic designers, print vendors and packaging manufacturers. This position reports to our Senior Brand Manager and also supports our Inventory and Production Manager. It requires presence in our Carbondale offices. This exempt position may involve travel and work outside of standard business hours due to the type of responsibilities managed. An eye for detail and expertise in file management are critical in this role.

  • Will maintain packaging production schedules in relationship to product production needs with awareness of the brand promotional and product launch calendars in mind

  • Is interested in process improvement and analysis

  • Is comfortable and interested in software platforms for file management, review, markup and inventory management

  • Takes pride in getting the details just right to help us put our best foot forward

The right team member will help us develop Osmia packaging operations in a major way while continuing to grow their own skill set. 


  • Deliver packaging projects on time and within budget

  • Maintain quality, consistency and accuracy of artwork, packaging elements and deliverables

  • Adhere to all compliance requirements —both Osmia brand standards and product regulatory guidelines

  • Maintain an accurate and optimal amount of inventory in various locations

  • Reduce printing costs and increase print quality by expanding vendor resources and analyzing file set up

  • Continue to improve the efficiency and accuracy of all processes

  • Communicate potential bottlenecks, shortages, and constraints early

  • Research packaging options including innovations in format, materials, delivery, etc.


  • Work with Inventory, Production, and Customer Service teams to confirm accuracy of packaging inventory in various locations

  • Assist with physical inventory counts

  • Help forecast optimal packaging order quantities based on inventory on hand, production calendar, brand calendar for packaging updates, projected sales goals, and budget

  • Become an expert on our inventory software system

  • Investigate potential new packaging options including eco (recycled, post-consumer, biodegradable) packaging opportunities and options providing improved customer experience

  • Coordinate and/or track incoming packaging shipments; work with Inventory, Production, and Customer Service teams to facilitate the flow of incoming goods


  • Liaise with printers, manufacturers and contractors to ensure our creative ideas are being executed to a consistent, exceptional standard 

  • Coordinate bids, schedule proofs and press checks, and manage project status with printers and manufacturers, communicating project updates regularly and with clarity

  • Sync our project systems with our vendors’ systems to maintain accuracy of specs, directives and deliverables

  • Manage project status with production designers and manage the approval of artwork changes

  • Maintain file organization on Dropbox and Google Drive including design files and product information from production

  • Create project management system in Asana or Google Drive to provide real-time status on all current packaging projects

  • Coordinate with Sr. Brand Manager to provide proof approvals or edits for printers

  • Quality check all projects before printing (proof all information, specs, etc.) while executing and policing brand guidelines, collaborating with colleagues where needed

  • Become an expert on compliance, maintaining references and checklists to help us continue to meet relevant standards

  • Quality check all projects upon arrival and assist with receiving

  • Where required attend client meetings (e.g. pre-production) and/or press approvals
